GameStop stores in Hampton Roads are asking customers to Round Up for CHKD!

GameStop stores are asking customers to Round up their change to support GameStop Gives charity partners including Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented stress on children’s hospitals, and now more than ever, we need support. CHKD is seeing an increased need for charitable care, telehealth services, personal protective equipment, COVID-19 testing supplies and more. By partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, GameStop is helping transform how we meet these urgent needs brought on by the pandemic. Kids can’t wait for a cure. Kids need our help, now.

Thank you, GameStop, for making a tremendous difference in the lives of kids like Julian.

Julian was diagnosed with glycogen storage disorder that impairs the function of his liver and muscles, when he was just 18 months old. He endures constant muscle pain and fatigue, and uses a wheelchair when he gets tired. It’s a constant race against the clock to keep his blood sugar within a safe range, and at age 6, he needed a gastrostomy tube to help with his constant feedings.

For a kid who already felt so different than all his friends, this procedure brought on anxiety and depression. His parents turned to CHKD for help. Here, he’s learned coping mechanisms for what he describes as his “really bad days”. Going for a walk, taking a bath, and listening to music are some of his strategies.

GameStop began fundraising for CHKD in 2018, raising over $7,500 since.
